About Me

Welcome to Flanny Apps, a collection of digital projects, experiments, and technical musings created by me, Peter James Flanagan. I’ve made daily word games, custom Garmin watch faces, Japanese playing card art, and so much more that I want to share.

What’s this site for?

I love making things. Sometimes they’re useful, sometimes they’re fun. This site serves as a living archive of my (primarily digital) creations — from small scripts and proof of concepts to full-scale web applications and custom hardware projects. A huge part of web development is maintaining a website. Not every project is worth the effort of keeping online. So, to give these projects a place to “live on,” I like to write about them in my blog.

Here, you’ll find analysis of technical challenges I’ve faced, retrospectives on past projects, and tutorials on modern web development. My goal is to share the “why” and “how” behind my work, documenting the process of creation from early mockups to the final product.

My Journey

I’ve been fascinated by the power of the web to connect people and solve problems since my early days in middle school computer fairs. Today, as a professional software engineer, I continue to build tools that range from functional and elegant, to silly and strange.
