A text based adventure game writing platform
Yellowood started as an editor for text based adventure games (see Yes, Chef!). I was to be the only user, so I hid it behind an admin token that I could set to prove it was me.
I showed to project to a friend of mine and he was more impressed with the editor than the game itself. He suggested that the editor is what I really should be putting out there.
So, after vibe coding started to become a viable way of actually completing a project, I decided to revisit.
I named the project Yellowood, a reference to the Robert Frost poem about choosing a path.
After that, I asked Claude to help me with all sorts of things that needed to happen:
Once I got it to a place that it seemed ready, Claude’s work was done, and mine was starting.
I added a few different games so first time users could see what the site’s aim was.
